Commonwealth War Graves Commission |
With its head office based in my home town of Maidenhead, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission commemorates the 1.7 million men and women of the Commonwealth forces who died during the two world wars. The register records the details of the Commonwealth war dead, so that war graves and names on memorials can be located. I have always thought it a rather dour and imposing looking building from the outside, and with overcast skies today my opinion has not changed.
